Who we're looking for

Bright students, real need

Each year UBORA sets aside sponsorship places for Form One applicants who show real academic promise but could not otherwise afford a world-class STEM education.

    • Applicants should be Tanzanian citizens with a vulnerable family background — for example living with one parent, a guardian or relative, or facing financial hardship at home — and able to have their situation confirmed in writing by their Village or Mtaa Chairperson.

    Pick up & return a paper form

    Collect a sponsorship application form from our office, fill it in by hand, and have Section F signed and stamped by your Village or Mtaa Chairperson. Return the completed form with all attachments to either UBORA campus below.

    Fill in the student, education and family sections below, then upload your documents — including a photo of the signed, stamped chairperson verification page. Takes about fifteen minutes.

    Before you start

    Documents you'll need

    The same documents are needed whichever way you apply.

    • Birth certificateA clear copy of the student's birth certificate
    • Academic reportsStandard 6 and Standard 7 progress reports
    • Passport photoOne recent passport-size photo of the student
    • Personal statementIn the student's own words — typed online, or handwritten and attached
    • Chairperson verificationSection F of the form, signed and stamped by your Village or Mtaa Chairperson
    • Death certificate(s)Only if a parent has passed away

    Section F needs a real signature and an official stamp, so it can't be completed on a screen — even if you apply online, you'll still need to print or collect that one page, have your local leader sign and stamp it, then upload a clear photo of it.

    Upload clear photos or scans of every completed page — including the signed, stamped chairperson verification — and we'll take it from there.
